BASS LAKE — The Pines Resort is bringing their favorite event to Bass Lake for the sixth consecutive season, kicking off on Friday, May 22 right before the Memorial Day Weekend and continuing on selected Fridays throughout the summer until Labor Day.
This year, Pines event manager Kim Castiglione promises the most popular bands with an array of music, from 80s and country to rock, jazz, Americana and tribute bands.
Granted, there will be some changes, at least initially.
Fresno-based Motel Drive will be the first to take over the lakeside stage, playing some country mixed with a little bit of rock and punk. Due to current health concerns related to COVID-19, the format of the event will be a bit different to start off with.
“The health and well being of our patrons, as well as employees, remain our highest priority. With current gathering restrictions – we decided to get creative again,” says the resort’s general manager, Mark Choe. The first Bass Lake Live will be a no-audience event.
Resort guests, local residents and Bass Lake fans will be able to enjoy the concert via live stream from the comfort of their rental cabin, suite deck or in their own homes.
“If you are out on a boat, pull in front of our Resort at 5 p.m. and enjoy the music with us,” added Mark.
The show goes ’til 8 p.m. To ensure proper distancing, the area leading to the deck and resort’s pool will be closed off. The concert can be enjoyed by live feed on our Facebook.com/pinesresort.
Friday also marks the day when the Pines’ new “family member” will be introduced – the Bass Lake Minnow!
This lightweight inflatable boat will be bringing a brand new service to the lake – food service! The Pines will be doing boat-food deliveries on Bass Lake! Call in your order, anchor in front of the resort, and have your food delivered to you without skipping a beat of summer fun.
The first Bass Lake Live concert is free to livestream. In support of their business, the Pines Resort hopes that people will order a dinner to-go from Ducey’s to offset the cost of the event. Both restaurants are scheduled to reopen for a limited dine-in service that day, as well as continue to offer take out orders.
“We are hoping that this concert will bring some joy to everyone’s life during these challenging times,” notes Castiglione. “It’s something new that we have never tried before, and new circumstances call for new solutions. We thank you for your support and patience while we navigate this new format. We miss you all at the lake and can’t wait to see you as soon as we can.”
